I specialize in children's faces (any age), drawn from your favorite photo. Original art, especially a child's portrait, is something that endures, and increases in sentimental value. Art is personal, hand-crafted, and it never goes out of style. A portrait makes a wonderful gift.
Each of my portraits is drawn with
black Prismacolor pencil on acid-free paper stock. My clients may also order laser quality prints of the original portrait on acid-free stock to share with friends and family. In addition you may choose the option of hand-coloring, which gives the unique and subtle look that you see here. |

The drawing you see (above) is of my oldest daughter, Kenzie, at three days old. When
her sister Cammie was born, I used this drawing to announce that Kenzie had a new baby sister. A local TV station saw it and asked if they could use this image on note cards they planned to sell as a community fundraiser. The profits went to benefit families of the children lost in the Oklahoma City bombings, which occurred three days after Cammie was born. We were happy to be a part of the Kansas City effort. Later I kept getting calls about my drawings, asking if I drew portraits for other people. This was the beginning of Baby Face Illustrations. I see this work as "my
calling," and I love it!

Working with me is simple. Just supply
a favorite photo where I can see the details clearly. If your child's eyes are open, I need to see the pupils, the lashes, and the "light" in the eyes. These things really bring out the child's personality on the paper. Fill out the
order form and send it to the address listed. Include your money order or check, which will not be cashed until the portrait is ready to be
shipped. |
